Product arrived actually a day earlier than expected. Clean, well packed and arrived with everything including the user's manual and guarantee.
Both batteries were fully charged. Have already used it on a project and so far the battery still shows full charge. Excellent torque and handles well.

I received my reconditioned Milwaukee 18V Li-Ion compact drill/driver kit a few days ago and was quite unhappy with its general appearance. While the unit does appear to be fully functional, cosmetically, it leaves much to be desired. In general, the unit appears more "used" than "reconditioned". The chuck and body are all scuffed up and it appears that someone's name or initials were removed from the body with a sander or rotary tool cutter. In addition, every component of the kit has been marked by hand with an engraving tool and bears the marking "R.K. 04-08". The unit looks well used and is not what I expected. I understand the unit is reconditioned and expecting it to be like new is unrealistic. However, I have some experience with reconditioned tools from Porter-Cable and Makita. I was hard pressed when inspecting these units to find cosmetic defects that distinguish a reconditioned tool from a new one. I guess Porter-Cable and Makita have just set the bar a little higher than Milwaukee.
I called and talked to a customer service representative at Milwaukee CPO about the condition of the kit. The representative was friendly, but really couldn't verify if the condition of the kit I received was typical or if it "might have missed final inspection". The representative was able to confirm that all reconditioned tools would be marked with an engraving tool in a manner similar to the kit that I had received. I was given the option of returning the tool for credit or exchanging it for another reconditioned unit. After some consideration, I have decided to return the kit for credit. If I were to request an exchange unit, I might be lucky enough to get one that was less scuffed up. However, it would still be all marked up with the engraving tool. In the end, I felt the incidental scuffs and dings were less of an issue than the intentional engraving tool markings. I'm not sure why the service center that processes these reconditioned units needs to deface every component with an engraving tool. Every component in my kit bears a factory issued serial number that should be enough to uniquely identify it for future warranty repair. If some additional marking is really necessary, why couldn't it have been placed in an inconspicuous location like the top of the battery pack and bottom of the drill where it would not be visible when the battery is attached to the drill. The markings are not very uniform (done by hand) and were all placed in very conspicuous locations. The markings give the appearance that you have a tool with someone else's name engraved on it. Wish this little piece of information had been included in the product description. I would not have made the purchase if I had known. Now I have the bother of returning the unit and will be out the cost of shipping both ways.

I read all of the many reviews of these reconditioned items before buying. Many buyers were disappointed with the cosmetic appearance of the item they received. I read the descriptions of a number of sellers prior to ordering, and found one that doesn't mark their drill/drivers after reconditioning them. In fact, the drill I received looks great, was in a new case, with what looked like new batteries and charger. Having used this for about a year now, I have nothing but good things to say about the Li-Ion batteries vs. all others. It holds a charge great, and runs at top speed...right up until it doesn't, meaning that you get full use out of the battery until it needs recharging. Charging is fast, and each battery contains a gauge on it showing its remaining charge.
The compact size of the drill makes it easy to handle. I use this drill regularly, and have nothing but good things to say about it.
